Blueberries Recover Brain Damage

Blueberry effect on improving brain power not only been tested on mice, but also proved by researchers  in humans.

Blueberries can provide enhanced ability to remember and learn significant. Blueberries are also shown to reduce damage to brain cells, thereby reducing the risk of dementia or other problems in the brain.

Blueberry effect on improving brain power not only been tested on mice, but researchers also proved in humans. Researchers from The University of Cincinnati have tested two small groups consisting of 18 participants aged 70 years. At the beginning of the study, participants reported to have signs of memory impairment.

One group was given two cups of blueberry juice every day for 3 months, whereas the other group was given only a placebo drink (pseudo) but thought that the drink contains blueberries. Both groups were given the same tests, ie memory test to determine the effects of blueberry beverage on brain function, especially memory.

In just three months after eating blueberry juice, participants are able to remember a list of names more quickly, produce high scores on tests of words and tend to decrease depression.

Blueberry anthocyanins are known to contain chemical compounds that can accelerate the delivery of messages or information to the brain and inhibits the cells from damage associated with age. Blueberries are one super fruit because of other properties that can fight cancer, heart disease, asthma, cataracts and other.
